    Collaborative Spaces

About 80% of the companies want their employees to collaborate more. According to a survey carried out by Steel case in 2017 for creating the ideal workplace, it was found out that leaders spend minimal amount of time working with larger groups consisting of 8 or more people. Whereas majority of their meetings are with people less than 6 in number. Statistics show that they spend 43% of their time meeting with small groups and only 9% of time is spent with groups of 12 or more. This means that an ideal workplace needs more collaborative spaces for a focused group of less than 8 employees. Smaller conference or collaborative rooms are required more than big conference/collaborative rooms in office

    Assigned vs unassigned seats

With increasing number of part-time workers in workplace, the important means in which they stay connected to their organization is through team meetings and collaboration sessions. These workers are satisfied with unassigned places and do not want a dedicated space for them to carry out their work duties. An interconnected workplace provides a palette of place – a diverse range of settings, organized into interrelated zones; a palette of posture – a variety of options for people to sit, stand or move throughout their day; and choice and control over how and where they work.

    Understanding Ergonomics

The latest research confirms that sitting smart, when combined with standing and walking options, can have a big impact on worker wellness and productivity.Adults now spend 50-70% of their time sitting, leading to higher risks for diabetes and cardiovascular disease, and even earlier death.A palette of posture and place allows workers to change positions, stay engaged and stay well.Seated workers use tiny amounts of energy and they fidget every 40 to 50 seconds (Dunk, 2010), moving their legs and feet, reclining and sitting upright, shifting their weight on the seat pan and flexing and extending the upper and lower back (Vargara, 2002).
